Never miss the take.

SoundCollector listens to your input and quietly keeps the last ten seconds. When something good happens — a riff, a phrase, a happy accident — it's already saved.

A single panel. Nothing in the way.

One window. A meter, a status, a Quick Save. Everything you don't need is gone, so the things you do need are obvious at a glance — even mid-take.

Six things, done well.

SoundCollector is intentionally small. Each function is built to be fast, predictable, and out of your way during a take.

10-second circular buffer

Continuously holds the last ten seconds of audio in memory. Always there, always fresh, never written until you ask.

Threshold auto-save

Set a level. When input crosses it, SoundCollector writes the surrounding window to disk — no babysitting required.

Quick Save

One button — or one global shortcut. Captures the buffer instantly with a clean, prefixed filename.

S↘ takes/take_07.wav

Lossless formats

24-bit WAV by default. AIFF and FLAC available. Sample rate follows your session — no resampling, ever.

Filename prefixing

Tag your saves up front — by song, take, or instrument. Files arrive sorted, named, and ready to import.

guitar_lead_take_002.wav
guitar_lead_take_003.wav

Insert. Play. Keep.

The whole point of SoundCollector is that you forget it's there until you need it. The workflow is four steps, and three of them happen once.

Insert

Insert on your master

Drop SoundCollector on any track. It listens silently — no signal change.

Configure

Set a folder

Point it at a session folder. Add a filename prefix if you want.

Perform

Play

Just play. The buffer is always rolling. The plugin disappears.

Keep

Auto capture

Hit Quick Save — or let the threshold auto-capture for you.

Where takes live.

SoundCollector writes plain audio files into plain folders. Nothing proprietary, nothing locked. Drag them into your DAW, your editor, or anywhere else — they're just files.

  • Auto-saves and quick-saves are color-tagged in the file metadata
  • Filenames carry the prefix, take number, and timestamp
  • Per-session folders keep takes from bleeding across projects
  • A daily index file logs every save, threshold, and source
